Fit Strength Performance

Strength Training For Athletes Workshop

Everybody knows Michael Jordan for his grace in the air, his thunderous slam dunks, his clutch jump shots, and of course his 6 NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls.

But there was a stretch when Jordan really struggled. In fact, the Chicago Bulls were eliminated in the playoffs by the Detroit Pistons 3 consecutive seasons in '88, '89, and '90.

The Pistons were bigger, stronger, and more physical.

Michael Jordan admittedly avoided strength training for the fear that it would ruin his jump shot, but in the summer of 1990, he committed to the weight room and gained 15 lbs of muscle!

The Bulls faced the Pistons again in the 1991 playoffs…. AND WON!

Athletes generally know that they should strength train. But it is more than just going to the weight room and squatting, benching, and deadlifting…

Why? Because athletes need to train like athletes...not like bodybuilders.
While athletes need to get stronger, they also need to become better movers. So where do you start? That's what we're here to teach you.

The most common lifts we see athletes perform when in the weight room are the Squat, Deadlift, and Bench Press.
These lifts can absolutely make you bigger and stronger...

However, will the above lifts make you a better athlete? There are 1000 ways to skin a cat, but there are BEST practices to help athletes stay injury-free and be better performers.

Join Mark Bruce, owner and head performance coach at Fit-Strength Performance, alongside Dr. Mike Stewart and Dr. Sean Rutherford of ROC Physical Therapy!

In this workshop we will discuss:
1. Explore corrective exercises and warm-up strategies that will keep you healthy on and off the field
2. Why did we choose the TBDL over the Straight bar Deadlift
3. Why Single-Leg Squats are better than 2 Legged Squats
4. Best exercises to build a bulletproof upper body

This workshop is for all athletes ages 13+!
